Quick Getaway to Oakland

• Where: Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, 4141 Fifth Ave., for nonstop dancing at the ninth annual PittStop LindyHop

• How far: 10-15 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh

• How much: $20 at door for Friday and Saturday night dances; $10 for others. Weekend passes and Sunday afternoon dance sold out.

• What for: This hall opened in 1910 to display memorabilia from the Civil War through present day military conflicts, but also offers a large performance venue where many of the weekend's dances will take place. The event draws people from all over the country and is open to all ages and abilities. The first dance begins at 8 tonight with The Solomon Douglas Swingtet; This will be followed by an early Saturday dance from 1 to 5 a.m. at the Wightman Community Center, 5604 Solway St., Squirrel Hill.
