Thanks for participating in the Pitt football Q&A.
Keep the questions rolling in and I will answer them every day throughout the season and through whatever bowl game Pitt goes to and through signing day in February.
You can follow the Panthers daily here as well as our Pitt football blog.
You can also view my new daily video reports on Pitt football at PG-Plus. Membership in that site is only $3.99 per month or $36 per year.
One other thing -- my weekly live Pitt chats will take place Thursday at noon.
Q: Paul, are you trying to jinx the Panther running backs by writing an article about them not fumbling and protecting the ball? C'mon. Just as you do not to mention a no-hitter in the dugout when a pitcher is on the brink of one, same rules apply.
Blaise Novotny, Ebensburg
ZEISE: No, I really wasn't - I just thought it was an interesting statistic that two freshman tailbacks who run the ball as much as those two do have protected the ball as well as those two do. That's pretty incredible. Of course, I'm sure if one or the other has a key fumble the next two weeks I'll have Pitt fans making and then sticking pins in vodoo dolls of me because you aren't the only one who has pointed out their displeasure with me pointing this out.
Q: Seriously, the Pitt-Cincinnati game is a noon start? A game between two Top 10 teams and a game that decides a BCS bowl spot is starting at 12 p.m. EST? I understand that there are official championship games taking up the evening time slots, but what game is more important in the 3:30 time slot? This just seems to be another slap in the face of the Big East.
Adam Brandt, Pittsburgh
ZEISE: No, the ABC game at noon that day ensures one thing that Pitt and the Big East could not get at any other time - the entire nation watching. At 3:30 or in prime time it would have been a split naitonal telecast. This is a national telecast that is not on a cable network which is something that is rare these days in college football, other than CBS's SEC package or NBC's Notre Dame package. Almost every "national telecast" on ABC is really a split national or regional telecast so I am not sure how this is a bad thing for Pitt or the Big East, well, other than it forces Pitt fans to show up for a noon game and we covered that a few weeks ago, that is just unfair because it apparently cuts into drinking time the night before.
Q: Does Jonathan Baldwin have to stay another year in college before entering the draft, or is he eligable to enter after this season?
Kevin Satitan, Lawrenceville
ZEISE: He has to stay another year. This is only the second year since his high school class has graduated.
